About the Aichi Fermentation Culture Promotional Council
The demand for and popularity of Japanese cuisine overseas in recent years has become unmistakable with a growing worldwide need for fermented condiments essential to Japanese cooking.
Aichi Prefecture is home to a distinctive culinary culture using a myriad of fermented condiments and ingredients since antiquity. And the current growing international interest in fermented food culture has become a favorable avenue to raise awareness of Aichi as a travel destination.
As such, the Aichi Fermentation Culture Promotional Council launched on May 1, 2024 with experts as well as industry groups; municipalities; commerce, industry, and tourism groups; and other such parties involved in fermented foods as members. The Council strives to invite the international community by promoting the various fermented cuisine cultures across Aichi and spreading the word of that allure both throughout Japan and around the world.
